Welcome to MCC Youth.

YM Westport

YM Westport is a youth group that meets weekly to foster youth involvement and interest in Islam, through means of the Masjid. Each week's event consists of prayer at the Masjid, an activity (sports, video games, etc), a Halaqah given by one our YM attendees, as well as dinner. The agenda of YM is overseen by the Imam.

Our Leader

The Ameer (leader) of YM Westport is Faris Zreiqat. His number is (661)-436-9111, and he will be happy to answer any questions about the program itself.

Who is this Open To?

This is open to all youth male that are of high school age, or older. Please pay heed to this age requirement, as we are unable to accommodate for anyone that does not meet the age requirement, per YM bylaws.

Plan Communication

Our plans are communicated through a "YM Louisville" WhatsApp group. To be added to this group, please reach out to Faris Zreiqat, using the action button (Contact our Ameer) above.

Do I Need to Bring Anything?

We ask that you check the group chat in order to know what to bring. Typically however, we may order pizza for all attendees, in which case we ask each person to bring $5. Occasionally, we 'eat out' and go to a restaurant as a group; we have found in these cases that roughly $10-$15 suffices.

Weekly Timing

We typically meet from Asr to Isha every Saturday. It is worth noting that this weekly timing is subject to change, and is detailed  more thoroughly in the YM Louisville group chat from week to week. Join the group for the most up-to-date and accurate details.

What Do We Do at YM?

The activity typically varies from week to week. We have played basketball, football,  or soccer, in the past, as an example of athletic activities. We have also had 'indoor days', in which we had a 'Super Smash Bros' tournament on the Nintendo Switch, for example. It varies from week to week, and also depends on weather.

Hira-MCC After School Program

The Hira After-School Program is a Part-Time Tahfeedh (memorization of Quran) program where the children first learn to recite Quran with proper Tajweed (art of recitation) and then memorize short and then longer Surahs of the Quran.
